Kingdom Government

Friday, March 11th, 2011

I want to re-introduce you to a thought, a plan, in fact, God’s original intent and purpose for mankind, Kingdom Government.
See, we have gotten this all wrong and we have divided ourselves into groups, religious groups. In the beginning, God did not establish a religion but rather a government.
What was God’s original intent? Why are we here and what is our purpose? God states explicitly what He intended in His Word. In Genesis chapter one, God speaks and what He tells us is the expression of the intent that He purposed beforehand in His mind. This is found in Gen. 1:26 – 28.

26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over
the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

In these verses, God tells us what He intended to do, which was to create in His own image and likeness, a species called “man.” Then He tells us why: so that “man” may exercise rulership and dominion over the Earth and all its creatures.
Now in order for this to take place, God prepared a special habitation for His human representatives, a “home base” from which they would fulfill His intent and fill the Earth with the culture of Heaven.
God’s original intent was to populate the Earth with humankind, who then would rule and dominate the planet for Him and in His name. God formed the Earth with man in mind to oversee it and exercise His delegated authority.
To get the full understanding of what we are presenting, understand that Heaven is a literal place, even though is it invisible. This you must know and believe, Heaven is real. It is a Kingdom with territory and a government – God’s government. God had a simple goal in mind from the beginning: to extend His invisible heavenly Kingdom to the visible Earth. He chose to do this by establishing an outpost, a colony of Heaven, on Earth. Now the plan was to populate this outpost, or colony with His children, those He created in His own image. They were to live by and operate His heavenly Kingdom government in the earthly realm.
We, here in the United States today, may not fully understand the concept of colonization. How can we? We live by, are governed by a different set of rules. But when a colony is established, it is made up of a group of people who leave their native country to form in a new land a settlement subject to, or connected with, the parent nation. It is any people or territory separated from but subject to a ruling power. So remember now, the ruling power and parent country in relation to the Kingdom is God and Heaven. This is why we pray, Our Father, which art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name . Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. So we are to live by the rules and culture of our parent country, Heaven. Man therefore, are to be Kingdom representatives who are to infuse the Earth with the culture of Heaven.
OK, now there is more to this but let’s jump forward to Jesus for just a little bit. Because man messed things up in the first outpost, the Garden of Eden, God had a plan to redeem us and His name is Jesus. Jesus came on the scene preaching and teaching about the Kingdom of God. So man missed it in the Garden, God sends Jesus to help us get it straight, get back on track. Therefore, ought we not to do as Jesus did and teach and preach the Kingdom of God? Jesus did not come with a religion; He came talking about the Kingdom.
May I just say, that, we are referred to as Christians because we believe that Jesus is the Messiah prophesied in the Hebrew Bible, referred to as the “Old Testament.” The word Christianity is the label that has been widely accepted by the secular and church-world to describe the practice of faith by the followers or disciples of Jesus Christ. So as disciples of Jesus Christ, as Kingdom Representatives, let us get back on our job to advance the Kingdom of God, not promoting a religion, but promoting and demonstrating the culture of Heaven, and Kingdom Government.
I’ll have more to say on this topic but in the meantime, do your own study, get in the Word of God and read it for yourself. Another reference book to consult, from which we took this lesson, is a book by Myles Munroe titled, “God’s Big Idea – Reclaiming God’s Original Purpose for Your Life.”

Sounding the Alarm 2!

Sounding the alarm with the shofar

Sounding the alarm with the shofar

“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;”
Joel 2:1
“And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies.”
Numbers 10:9

We discuss here two reasons to sound the alarm.

Sounding the alarm is to get someone’s attention; whether God’s, yours, or someone else’s. According to Numbers 10:9, we can sound an alarm when the is enemy oppressing you and you have had enough. Blow the alarm and God will remember you.

Is the enemy oppressing you? If you are a Christian, I mean a true, Bible-believing/living Christian, not just one who claims the name but don’t live it, then most likely he is trying his best to do just that. But, sound an alarm!

Rua – primary overall meaning is to raise a noise by shouting or with an instrument. To split the ears with sound.

Shout out to God! Whatever He does you enemy has to back up off of you.

You also sound an alarm to gather a congregation. Whether it be for instruction or warning, you are gathering people together to give them vital information and direction. Like the Emergency Broadcast System issuing it’s alerts, we are sounding the alarm and have vital information and instructions for all of God’s people.
Joel 2:1 states the day of the Lord cometh. This is fact! Therefore, in essence, this is an exhortation to BE ready; BE ready, not get ready! When the time comes, you may not have time to get ready.

If I tell you I’m coming back to get you but I’m not sure what time it will be and I just need you to be ready, then what should you do? Be ready. John 14:1- 3 says, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
Jesus is coming back for His people. He’s coming back for His bride, the Church. All those who accept Him as their Lord and Savior, He’s coming back for us. That’s the Good News.

When He comes back, He will blow the last trump. So, see what we are doing now is blowing the trumpet, sounding an alarm to gather the people, to alert them to get ready now! While we’re making these trumpet calls, you need to make sure you are hearing them and taking heed to them. This is your preparation time. This is the time to make an assessment and get it right.

So many times we hear but we don’t hear. Well, wake up, pay attention; THIS IS IMPORTANT! You need to hear this and take heed, then you need to take it out and cause others to hear as well. It is time to wake up and get functional in the Spirit. Wake up and operate in the things of God. The alarm is sounding. Hear it and take action; no more hitting the snooze button, get up and GET READY, Jesus is soon to return!

A Season of Change

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Change – become or make different; substitute or replace something; pass from one state to another

If I told you God is causing and calling for change, what would you say? Would you embrace it or run from it? Would you welcome it or abhor it? Depending on how you look at it, change can be either good or bad. Change directed by God, however, is always done for our benefit, our good.

Yes, change that is directed by God comes to make us better. There are lessons to be learned at any and all levels and it is up to us to glean from those lessons that which will enable us to grow. If done properly, you will move, and in some cases even transform, into who God has called you to be. You will live out your potential and fulfill your destiny.

Yes, change can be good, if you stay on course. But now, everything has a downside to it and change is no different. If you don’t keep it in check and under wraps, change will change you into something less than desirable. Change is in the air; God causes it, allows it and you either make it or break it.

A season of change with God’s favor…which course will you follow?
God’s favor will cause people to favor and bless you. You gain access to things before blocked to you. You receive promotion and recognition. Done right, this allows you to do greater things for God and create situations where God gets the glory. Done wrong and you get the big head and begin to think it’s all about you.

There is an increase in the latter, especially amongst pastors. What gives?! God’s favor comes upon you and for awhile you attribute it to God and give Him all the praise, honor and glory. Then something sets in; you get off course and lose your sight. Jesus is no longer your focus but off center a little bit and the things of the world attract your attention more so than the things of God. Why? Power, prestige, fame and fortune; you see $ signs instead of people. You see “things” (big houses, fine cars, etc.) instead of souls to be saved. You’ve been bit by the bug, the secular demon. The Father’s objective is not on your mind–getting more money, more stuff is. You have forgotten, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” Your season of change has turned you from God.
There is a strict warning in the Bible to the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of God’s pasture. God said He would visit upon you the evil of your doings. Favor has gone to your head and corruption has set in. You, in essence, begin “pimping” the church; your trusted and loyal congregation. This is not the change God was calling for. REPENT, and turn from your ways! A season of change is upon you but now the question is, what will you do with it?
